Andy Serkis says THE BATMAN: PART II will begin filming early next year

The Batman star Andy Serkis offered an update on when production will begin on the upcoming sequel.

During a panel at the ACE Superhero Comic Con, Serkis was asked about the movie and he said, “I basically know nothing about the movie other than I just found out that we’ll probably start shooting at the beginning of the next movie.” year.”

The actor continued, “I know Matt [Reeves] he’s working really hard on the script. Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the amazing director that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I think what he did with that first film was truly amazing.

He added: “I enjoyed working with Rob Pattinson and can’t wait to play Alfred once again.”

This shooting schedule is in line with what we’ve previously heard, but there are also rumors that The Batman: Part II and Part III could be shot consecutively.

It has also been reported that the sequel’s story will be at least partially based on Geoff Johns’ Batman: Earth One. The first film took some inspiration from vol. 1, so I assume that means the sequel would be more influenced by volumes 2 and 3.

Batman: Earth One is set in an alternate universe where Bruce Wayne is struggling to find his purpose as the protector of Gotham City. With the help of Alfred Pennyworth, a former SAS agent, Bruce embarks on his journey to face both familiar and new villains along the way.

The story explores the psychology of Batman as he seeks justice in Gotham. Hush is also said to be one of the film’s big villains.

Movie stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis like Alfredo, Jeffrey Wright like Jim Gordon, and Colin Farrell like Penguin.

Batman: Part II will hit the big screen on October 2, 2026.
