First look at photos of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in Robert Zemeckis’ film HERE; Exciting new details revealed

We have some photos to share with you as a director Roberto Zemeckis’ upcoming film Hereand offer a first look Tom Hanks AND Robin Wright at various ages of their lives. We also have some new details about the project.

The film is an adaptation of Richard McGuireand the story is described as “a revolutionary and breathtaking odyssey through time and memory”.

“The groundbreaking story centers on a New England location where, from the wilderness and then later home, love, loss, struggle, hope and legacy unfold between couples and families over generations.”

Vanity Fair reveals that the film “takes place entirely from a fixed point of view. The camera never moves. It doesn’t zoom or even turn. What moves, and rather quickly, is time.

Zemeckis said: “The unique perspective never changes, but everything around it does. It’s actually never been done before. There are similar scenes in very early silent films, before the language of montage was invented. But other than that, yes, it was a risky venture.”

This is a very interesting and unique way to tell a story in a film and I’m really curious to see how it looks visually as the story unfolds.

The director added: “That’s the emotion. What comes from this vision of the universe? I think it’s an interesting way to do a meditation on mortality. It taps into the universal theme that everything passes.”

Talking about how the project came about, he said: “We were in London, thinking about films, and we were both talking about: ‘Is there a chance to do something that’s completely unique, something that’s never been done?’

“And I said, ‘Well, there’s this graphic novel that I’ve never been able to get out of my mind. Is called Here.’ That night, Tom went home, bought the book on Kindle, and came back the next morning and said, “My God, that’s it.” And he!’

In the film, Hanks plays a baby boomer named Richard, “who at certain points in the story is around his age of 67 but also spans the decades thanks to traditional makeup effects, as well as digital aging effects. Hanks ages himself into the late ’80s and travels back to when Richard was a very young man in the ’60s, just as the two-time Oscar winner did in his TV debut as the baby-faced star of the ’80s 80. Best friends.”

Wright joins the story during Richard’s late adolescence “as his girlfriend and later wife, Margaret, as the couple raise their children in the house where he grew up, and go from looking decades younger to old age as she is lively and adventurous. Her character guides her husband through the changing times.”

The film is also the protagonist Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) AND Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody) as the house’s “first inhabitants at the dawn of the 20th century, an airman and his wife who never suspect how soon their living room will be used for a wake.”

David Funn (The Mauritanian) AND Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy) stars as “an inventor and pin-up model living the good domestic life during the Roaring Twenties, while Nicola Pinnock (For the life) AND Nikki Amuka-bird (Knock on the booth) play a couple who live in the house after Hanks and Wright, chronicling the social upheaval of 2020 in their own family, as well as their housekeeper (played by Anya Marco Harris.)”

I’m excited to see this movie! It looks like it’s going to be a fantastic and unique cinematic experience.
