A new report has surfaced regarding a possible surprise cameo in Marvel Captain America: Brave New World. If you continue reading and this report turns out to be legitimate, the surprise will no longer be a surprise.
According to a recent Instagram post from paparazzi Atlanta Filming, Marvel Studios has enlisted an MCU veteran to New worldand it will be interesting to see what kind of role he will have in the story.
According to the report, Benedict Wong will return as the MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, in the film.
This is definitely an unexpected character to appear in a film that is presented more as a political thriller. It would be like Doctor Strange arriving Captain America: The Winter Soldierit doesn’t seem to work.
But, as it turns out, Marvel has a plan for the character in the film and it will be interesting to see what that plan will be. The only connection I see to the movie is that Wong is shown fighting Abomination Shang Chi, and Abomination was created by Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader, in The Incredible Hulk.
The Leader will play an important role in the story of New worldso maybe there’s a connection here. Tim Blake Nelson he previously spoke about his character, saying, “You’ll see me in a big way. What they’ve come up with is amazing.”
He also explained that the film will explain the Leader’s 16-year absence in the MCU. Maybe Wong is involved in his past somehow? We’ll find out eventually!
