Here’s a trailer for a great looking stop-motion adventure film titled Brave cat. The film follows Kona, a teenage forest cat who decides to face her fears and search for her missing mother, who has been kidnapped.
His mother was kidnapped from the circus a long time ago. Together with Colin, an abandoned guard dog puppy, and Bernard, an aging circus bear on the run, the three unexpected companions will embark on a cross-country quest to find their lost families.
The film was created by Chilean animation group Punkrobot Studio, who won Chile’s first Oscar in 2016 for the short film History of the bear. They also created one of the segments of Visions of Star Wars: Vol. 2 for Lucasfilm.
The film was directed by Gabriel Osorio, who explains that it is “a successor to History of the bear in a certain sense… while [that film] told a story from the point of view of someone in exile, Brave cat tells the story of someone searching for their missing loved one.”
It looks like the film will take the audience on an emotional and heartbreaking journey. Brave cat is still looking for international distribution. No release date has been set yet.
