Oscar winner Angelica Huston was thrown Towards Zero, the latest adaptation of Agatha Christie’s BBC/BritBox series. Huston will play protagonist Nevile Strange’s aunt (Oliver Jackson Cohen).
After a scandalous celebrity divorce, the British tennis star and his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) make the unthinkable decision to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home and the coastal estate of Nevile’s aunt, Lady Tressilian (Huston).
The series is also the protagonist Jackie Clune (Homeland), Grace Doherty (Call the midwife), Jack Farthing (Rain dogs), Khalil Gharbia (Mary and George), Adam Hugill (Sherwood), Mimi Keene (Sex education), Clarke Peters (The cable), Emmy winner Matthew Rhys (THE Americans) and winner of the Oliver Award Anjana Vasan (Black Mirror: Demon 79).
Huston said of the role:
“I have long been a fan of Agatha Christie and the murder mystery genre and have always loved the opportunity to film in England. I am thrilled to be working with director Sam Yates and this wonderful cast, and I am thrilled to play the intelligent and dignified Camilla, Lady Tressilian.”
Towards Zero follows last year’s Murder is easy and is one of a new generation of Christie adaptations that were not written by Sarah Phelps for the BBC and BritBox. Rachel Bennette (NO) is behind this, with Sam Yates (Magpie) director and producer for Mammoth Screen with Agatha Christie Limited. Cameras are rolling in Bristol and Devon.
