AMC has released a teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of Snowpiercer. This offers a quick and intense look at the next chapter of this post-apocalyptic story.
Snowpiercer is based on the 2013 film of the same name, which was itself based on a graphic novel by Jacques Lob AND Jean-Marc Rochette.
The story is set “more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a perpetually moving train that circles the globe.
“Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival come to the fore in this gripping television adaptation based on the acclaimed film and graphic novel series of the same name.”
In season two, “Mr. Wilford, the creator of Snowpiercer, emerges in season two, ready to take back his stolen train, sparking a new power struggle.
“This causes a dangerous rift as the passengers are torn between their loyalties to the revolutionary Layton and to Mr. Wilford, who has a new train, new technology and a game plan that leaves everyone perplexed.
“As Layton battles Wilford for Snowpiercer’s soul, Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) leads the charge toward a shocking new discovery that could change the fate of humanity.”
In Season 3: “At the end of Season 2 of Snowpiercer, Layton and Ruth, who had been banished to Big Alice’s compost car, plotted to take Snowpiercer back. With the help of Javier (Roberto Urbina) and Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard), Layton and Ruth returned to Snowpiercer and reunited with their supporters.
“Josie destroyed the Aquarius car, separating Snowpiercer’s head from the remaining 1,023 cars. Season three picks up with Layton (Diggs) and his inner circle in command of a small 10-car “pirate train” in search of Melanie and a possible hot spot to restart civilization; while on Snowpiercer, Mr. Wilford is consolidating power, awaiting Layton’s return.
The cast of the series includes Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Mickey Summer, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalize Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, Archie Panjabi, Clark GreggAND Steven Ogg.
Courtney Thomasma, executive vice president of streaming at AMC Networks, said in a statement: “We can’t wait to share the final season of this exciting series with this vibrant community of fans and new viewers starting July 21 on AMC and AMC+ . with plenty of time to catch up on previous seasons on a variety of on-demand platforms and AMC+ before then.
“Snowpiercer it’s a fun drama with a great cast, and seeing how the ride ends will be a highlight of the summer, worthy of a 1001-car train.

The show is produced by Tomorrow Studios (a partner of ITV Studios) together with CJ Entertainment. ITV Studios distributes Snowpiercer internationally.
AMC acquired the rights to the series after TNT canceled the show in 2022, when Warner Bros. Discovery was implementing its content devaluation strategy.
