Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Furiosa) is in talks to star in the Paramount Pictures film Transformers/GI Joe crossover film.
All I can say to Hemsworth is don’t do it! Run as far away from this project as you can because it will end up being another piece of crap GI Joe AND Transformers movie! He should go do another one Extraction movie instead!
For some reason, the studio’s executive and creative teams don’t have a clue how to properly handle these movie franchises, so they’re just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura he has already admitted that he doesn’t have any kind of plan in place. When asked what we can expect to see in the film, he said, “The truth is, I don’t know. I know we’re going to keep the promise we made.”
He also previously shared, “We don’t plan that long. We react to what the audience is reacting to, so in a way we can please them, but also in a way that makes it feel fresh. We expect that there will be be faithful and they will go together on some sort of mission.”
The producer also teased the closest thing to a plan they have, saying, “Like every other Transformers movie, the ingredients of the movie are humans and robots coming together to stop the bad guy. The Joes will be part of the ingredients now.”
He added: “We’re not going into Joe’s world, they’re going into our world. So if you think about it that way, I think that’s the closest thing to the plan that we have. Now we have to figure out the plot that we want to do, et cetera, but they will actively participate, if you will, some characters, in trying to stop the bad guy.”
They just have to erase everything they’ve already done and start over. I’m not a fan of how Paramount and Hasbro handled these films. They could be so much better than what they put out, but they just don’t know how to properly tell stories with these amazing characters.
