Liam Neeson will star in a cross-country car chase action thriller titled Mongoosewhich was acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
Neeson will play Ryan “Fang” Flanagan in the film, “a war hero who, accused of a crime he didn’t commit and with nothing to lose, leads the police on an epic car chase across televised country.”
Along the way, he is “aided by members of his former Army Special Forces battalion and closely monitored by a fascinated audience rooting for his safe escape.”
The film project reunites Neeson with producers Code Entertainment who were behind both of his Ice road movie. The film is directed by a veteran professional stuntman Marco Vanselow (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
The script comes from Thompson Evans (Showdown) and production will begin in January 2025 in Australia.
Producers Al Corley AND Bart Rosenblatt said in a statement: “We are truly fortunate to be able to make another film with the extraordinary Liam Neeson and the enormously talented Mark Vanselow. We look forward to embarking on another creative journey with our partners and friends.”
Neeson sure has fun making his action movies! It’s kind of crazy that his acting career ended here, but he’s obviously having fun making fun movies!
