Marvel is officially developing a Vision series you will see Paolo Bettany return to the role. It was also announced Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas will serve as the project’s showrunner.
There was a very interesting story for Vision that was set in the MCU. After being assassinated by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity Warhe came back for WandaVision in two forms.
Vision was both a ghostly creation of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) through his pain, and he too was reconstructed as a white android with no memory of his past life.
By WandaVisionafter the two Visions fought each other, Wanda’s version of Vision gave up his memories to the new white version, and he simply flew away.
This new series will explore what happened to Vision next, and there will be a really interesting, fascinating and complicated story to tell.
It seems like Matalas is a great choice to tackle this story. I love what he did Picard! There was an earlier version of the series in development WandaVision Creator Jac Schaefferbut Schaeffer ended up dedicating his time to the WandaVision spin off, Agata always with Kathryn Hahn.
Speaking about returning to play Vision, Bettany previously said: “Eventually WandaVisionyou see Vision fly away and that’s unfinished business, and Kevin Feige (president of Marvel Studios) is a man who does not admit loose ends.
“So I assume I’ll be donning my tights and cape for another outing at some point, but I don’t know when that might be.”
Bettany also wondered what his character would be like without Wanda by his side, saying, “I mean, that’s the point, right? I’ve never had a loved one to lose… I don’t know what grief is because I’ve I have never had a loved one to lose.
“There’s so much to delve into with him because it’s ten minutes here, ten minutes there, in the movies. Now we’re just starting to eliminate some things.”
This Vision series is the first new live-action series to get the green light in nearly two years. What would you like to see from this new Vision project?
