Another director is said to be in the running to direct Spider-Man 4 for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. The director is James Wanand would make an interesting choice for the job.
Other directors said to be on the list include Drew Goddard (Hut in the woods), Sam Raimi (Spiderman), Justin Lin (Fast and furious franchising), John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (Dungeons & Dragons) and what is highly unlikely Jon Favreau (Iron Man).
Wan’s news was shared by Inside Scooper MyTimeToShineHellobut there is no confirmation whether the director is actually on the list.
Wan is a great director when it comes to horror, but the Aquaman films he directed for DC… not so great in my opinion. I’m not sure if superhero movies are in his wheelhouse, but maybe he could do something interesting with Spider-Man if he had the chance.
The scooper also claims that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, will make her debut in the film, which isn’t too far-fetched to believe. It makes sense that Marvel and Sony would eventually introduce her to the franchise.
