Interesting little details revealed about Oscar Isaac’s costume in MOON KNIGHT

An interesting little detail was recently discovered regarding one of the costumes that Oscar Isaac worn in the Marvel Studios series Knight of the Moon.

While I didn’t care how the story of that series unfolded, I love and appreciate the attention, care, fandom, and detail that the production and design team puts into their work.

No one would have noticed this detail if it had not been pointed out. It is an Easter egg that needs to be deciphered as it contains a multitude of references to certain dates. It only appears on the screen for a second.

During an interview with CinemaBlend, Knight of the Moon costume designer Meghan Kasperlik explains: “On the collar, as on the back of the collar… Oscar’s Guatemalan”.

He continued: “I took the Mayans and found basically symbols – almost like zodiac symbols – of Oscar’s birthday, his brother’s birthday, the first issue of Moon Knight, the first time we see Jake Lockley, the first time we see Mr. Knight and Moon Knight in this.”

Kasperlik added: “I took all those months of those zodiac symbols and incorporated them into a pattern, and then I 3D printed it on the back of the collar. You only see it for, literally, a second. But Oscar knew that.” . It was there.”

It’s things like that that I appreciate about these projects. Even if movies or shows leave out the story or characters, we know that production teams and artists do these kinds of things that some viewers may never notice and see.

While Oscar Isaac would love to see it Knight of the Moon return for a Midnight suns project, we have no idea what Marvel’s plans are for the character.
