Sam Raimi Talks SPIDER-MAN 4 and What He Should Understand If He Directed It

Many Marvel fans would love to see it Sam Raimi return to directing Tobey Maguire In Spider-Man 4especially after Maguire returned to reprise his role Spider-Man: No Way Home.

At one point, Raimi was developing a fourth film, but Sony Pictures decided to scrap it and start over. There were rumors that Raimi was developing something, but nothing has been confirmed.

During a recent interview with TheWrap, Raimi talked about a potential fourth Spider-Man movie and the things he would need to figure out if he were to direct it. There are some narrative obstacles that he would have to face.

Raimi explained, “I think if we were to make a fourth Spider-Man movie, we would probably have to understand the journey that Tobey Maguire’s character would take and what obstacles he would have to overcome to achieve that personal growth.”

He added: “And I hope the villains are chosen based on the representation of that obstacle.”

Raimi went on to admit that he hadn’t thought about what that obstacle would be for Maguire’s Peter Parker because he would have to “talk to Tobey and the writers and really figure out what his personal growth would be for this episode.”

As for whether Raimi will ever direct another Spider-Man movie starring Maguire, never say never. As we have seen, nowadays anything is possible.

Raimi is also said to be set to direct Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 and the next two Avengers films for Marvel Studios. All Raimi has said regarding these rumors is that he hopes Marvel asks him to direct films.

Speaking previously about the rumours, Raimi said: “I’m actually not working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with the current Spider-Man [movies]and the track there, and I don’t know if they’ll come back to me and say, ‘Well, folks, we can tell that story too!’”

He continued, “I’m not sure, but I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I liked it Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was really cool to see Tobey [Maguire] back into it.

I have no idea if Raimi will ever get to direct another Spider-Man movie, but I hope that one day we see him direct another Marvel movie again.
