After Zack Snyder’S Man of Steel was released, the director decided to jump right in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for a sequel to his Superman.
Personally, I wish Snyder had taken a little more time to build out his DC cinematic universe before launching into a film that would bring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman together.
I think Snyder and DC Films simply needed to be a little more patient with these films. I think the films would have done much better than they did if they had taken the time to build out the universe and these characters, like Marvel did in the beginning.
So why did Snyder choose to direct? Batman vs. Superman about Man of Steel 2? During an interview with GQ the director was asked about this and he explained that it was a story that he was simply forced to tell.
Synder said, “Once you talk about the fact that Bruce Wayne exists in the same world as Superman, right? Then you like the concept of Batman. You have to stop thinking about it.”
He added: “Now, Man of Steel 2, if you were to make it, you know with Brainiac or whatever you’re going to do, which it certainly could have been… and maybe so, hold it off for a while.” film, and this is possible.
He continued, “I felt like I needed to know what Bruce’s view was on this, like it was Bruce’s view on almost destroying the world. And it really depends on how important you think Batman is in the Trinity.
It’s something he could have done after Man of Steel 2, and we would have actually gotten a sequel to Man of Stele. I would have easily made a trade Batman vs. Superman for Man of Steel 2!
But what’s been done is dormant, and the DC Cinematic Universe is going through another evolution with James Gunn and Peter Safran leading the charge. I have faith that they will make some great DC movies!
