I have a wonderful trailer here for you to watch for an upcoming anime film titled Look back. The film is based on the acclaimed one-shot manga by The chainsaw man‘S Tatsuki Fujimoto.
This story is the exact opposite of The chainsaw man, Although! This film tells the sweet story of the characters Kyomoto and Fujino, two rivals who become friends and are united by their love and passion for manga drawing.
In the film, “The overconfident Fujino and the withdrawn Kyomoto couldn’t be more different, but a love of manga drawing unites these two small-town girls. A touching story of growth and progress.”
As you’ll see in the trailer, Fujino finds herself in Kyomoto’s shadow before they bond and experience life beyond the walls of their rooms. As you’ll see, the art and animation are beautiful. You don’t even need English subtitles to understand what the story is about. You can feel it.
Look back is directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyamawho was part of the animation team on Studio Ghibli titles such as The boy and the heron, the wind risesAND Arrietty.
The film will be released in Japan on June 28, but there’s no word yet on when it will arrive in the United States.
