Greg Daniels AND Michael Koman they are co-creating a new one The office series for Universal Television and the project is moving forward with casting.
They reported it Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars, The Patient) AND Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) are the first two actors to join the project. They would fill two roles in what would be an ensemble cast, like the original versions of the show.
Showrunner Greg Daniels he’s hinted over the years that while the series was wrapped up neatly, if an idea were to come along that made sense for a sequel series, reboot, or whatever, he might be open to it. Well, it looks like the project is in full swing right now!
The series in development will be set in the same universe as The Office, but it will be a different office filled with new characters.
I just hope the comedy is as funny as the first two Office series! I’m just trying to laugh, the bar was set so high with the first two shows. I hope this new series can reach that level of comedy again.
Daniels opened a writers’ room in January 2024 to begin work on the new iteration of NBC’s hit mockumentary sitcom, which ran from 2005 to 2013 and was adapted by Ricky Gervais AND Stefano Mercanteis the British series of the same name.
The American “Office” took place in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and followed the staff of a paper company. She acted Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling AND BJ Novakamong others.
