Justin Kuritzkeswho wrote the next one Zendaya movie Challengershe just joined in to fit City on fire, the first in a trilogy of bestselling novels by Don Winslow. The film will be the protagonist Austin Butler (Elvis).
Winslow’s Swan Song Trilogy: The Final Chapter City in ruins has just hit the bestseller lists after being published by William Morrow – it’s a modern retelling of the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Aeneid and Greek tragic plays set in the world of contemporary crime.
The novel was acquired a year before the publication of the first chapter City on fire in a mid-seven-figure outright purchase in 2021. City of dreams followed, and all three books received excellent reviews.
Winslow considers the trilogy his final book-writing effort, though many of his bestsellers will live on, as series and film adaptations are in the works across town.
Kuritzkes will begin from the beginning, a struggle between two criminal empires – one Irish, the other Italian – that control all of New England, until a modern-day Helen of Troy tears them apart and begins a brutal war.
Butler will play the lead character, Danny Ryan, who is forced to transform from street soldier to ruthlessly effective leader to protect his friends, family and the home he loves.
Battling the mob, the local police, the feds – everyone – Danny is determined to build a dynasty or die trying.
