Here is the trailer for a motivational drama titled The Guardianbased on the true story of a military veteran who goes on a journey hiking the Appalachian Trail.

George Eshleman is an Army veteran, affected by the suicides of his fellow veterans. So, he decides to raise awareness about military suicides by hiking the entire nearly 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.

On his journey he brings with him 363 ribbons with the names of the uniforms of military veterans who took their lives, given to him by their families. During the journey, he is given the trail name “The Keeper” (of names) and finds support and comfort from other hikers, civilians and military veterans, in the “Hiker Universe”.

This adventure subculture forms a network of hikers who delight in their common purpose and an unexpressed meaning in life that drives them along the trail and toward the next peak.

The synopsis reads: “A special group of military veteran hikers help track a fellow vet battling depression, PTSD and suicidal tendencies as he hikes the Appalachian Trail. From the beginning, George meets four unique military veteran hikers (Michael Maclane, Haley Babula, Andrew Ferguson, Nicholas Asad), who follow his hike, motivate his efforts and seem to keep him in check from start to finish.

“Despite support from fellow hikers and veterans for his noble mission, his depression threatens to overtake his judgment as he plans suicide on the trail. With his darkness just a few steps away from his mind, George fights a daily battle along the trail as he struggles to prove his mettle, overcome depression, and focus on the mission of completing the trail.

The director of movie stars Angus Benfield like George, and he is joined by Haley Babula, Michael Maclane, Nicholas Asad, Andrea Ferguson, Kameron WhitakerAND Lancia Bonza.

This film seems to tell a wonderfully uplifting story. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 24, 2024.
