Director James Gunn he threw Neva Howell as Martha Kent in his Superman movie. Martha is Jonathan Kent’s wife and Clark Kent/Superman’s adoptive mother on Earth.
The character actor was announced yesterday Pruitt Taylor wins he would play Jonathan Kent. It is not known what important role these characters will have in the film.
Martha Kent was played by Phyllis Thaxter in Richard Donner’s 1978 film Superman, Eva Marie Saint Iin 2006 The Return of Superman. AND Diane Lane in 2013 Man of Steel.
Howell is a character actress who has appeared in projects such as October sky, Run the race, Logan Luckyand more.
Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

Superman will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
