Pamela Anderson will join Liam Neeson in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming reboot The naked gun. This is amazing casting and I’m sure it will be fun to see Neeson and Anderson act alongside each other in the film.
The original film followed Leslie Nielsen as the slapstick/deadpan Los Angeles detective Frank Drebin as he stumbled upon various crimes, getting himself into hilarious situations.
Based on the short-lived parody series The police team! broadcast on ABC in 1982, the film series was infinitely more successful, resulting in two sequels that became solid box office hits. With all the nostalgia that comes with rebooting previous hit titles, it was only a matter of time before Paramount went back. The naked gun.
There’s no information on who Anderson will play in the film, but this wouldn’t be the first time she’s appeared in a comedy. She previously appeared in Scary movie 3 AND Superhero movieswhich are both parody films like The naked gun.
Anderson also reprized her role as CJ Parker in the 2017 big-screen reboot Baywatch who acted Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron AND Alessandra Daddario.
Akiva Shaffer (Hot Rod, Popstar: Never stop, never stop) will direct the film, as well as serve as executive producer and co-writer of the screenplay Dan Gregor AND Douglas Man.
The naked gun will be released in theaters on July 18, 2025.
