It seems Robert Kirkmann’S Invincible has been renewed by Prime Video for seasons 4 and 5! The news appears to have been accidentally confirmed by Skybound.
The information was shared as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Skybound’s Republic for a AAA Invincible video game.
In the segment of the page that lists details about the animated adaptation, it says Season 3 in production; Renewed for seasons 4 and 5.” That line has since been deleted, but a screenshot of it exists and you can see it for yourself below.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that we’re getting the green light for a couple more seasons. After all, Robert Kirkman previously said that he hoped to do seven or eight.
Kirkman said: “I’m trying not to limit it to one number, because it’s somewhat of a moving target. I think seven to eight seasons seems to be enough.”
He added: “But there may be some things we advance a little faster, some things we expand. If we were lucky enough to last long, I think it would be enough to cover the entire comic.”
He continued: “And there are some things along the way that didn’t make it into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it would be nice to have a few episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.
As for the game, it’s said to be developed by a team of “more than 30 gaming industry veterans” at Skybound, some of whom have previously worked at companies like Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts/EA, and Epic Games.
The post also notes that $18 million has already been raised from investors and fans, who can now contribute funds to the game through Republic.
The series’ story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who is just like any other boy his age, except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet.
“Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in season one, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a series of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear: that he might become his father without even knowing it.”
The series is the protagonist Steven Yeunwith Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gray DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zechariah Quintus, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth RogenAND JK Simmons.
The third season of Invincible should arrive sooner or later.
