A second season of the adapted series was announced last year The night manager was quietly being developed under the code name Steel mills. Based on the novel by John le Carréthe detective film is the protagonist Tom Hiddleston, Hugh LaurieAND Olivia Colman.
Now the BBC and new co-pro partner Amazon have revealed they will develop an enhanced two-season order of the series, with Hiddleston returning to the helm, Laurie returning as EP and with a new director in place. I hate Suzie‘S Georgi Banks-Davies. A third season has also been greenlit. David Farr is the creator of the series and Stephen Garrett is in charge of production.
The night manager The first season was a huge success, watched by millions of people and won numerous BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes, including Best Actor for Hiddleston.
Also starring Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki, it followed Pine – who ran a luxury hotel in Cairo – as he attempted to infiltrate the inner circle of Roper’s crime syndicate after being hired by Foreign Office task force manager Angela Burr.
The night manager Filming on the second season will begin later this year and will pick up with Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine eight years after the explosive finale of the first season, going beyond the original book, written by the celebrated British writer in 1993.
Further plot details are being kept under wraps and there’s no confirmation yet whether EP Laurie’s Richard Roper, who was last seen in the back of a wagon driven by gun buyers who weren’t very happy with him, will return to recite.
