A few months ago, it was announced that fans would be getting another one Star Trek film, but no details were provided at the time. Now we know this isn’t exactly the sequel we expected. This week at CinemaCon it was announced that this film will be set decades before the 2009 original Star Trek characteristic.
Andor director Toby Haynes will direct from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith (who is also writing another much talked about CinemaCon title, his third Now you see Me movie). JJ Abrams is returning to production.
This is not the first time that a Star Trek the film has been teased in recent years and it’s not the first time there’s been talk of a prequel. But it seems like for now things are on track for this movie to happen. Are you excited to start this prequel project?
