Dwayne Johnson AND vin Dieselit is long-standing Fast & Furious The feud over the franchise officially ended last year when Johnson shocked fans by appearing as beloved character Luke Hobbs in a X fast mid-credits scene. Diesel had extended an invitation to Johnson in November 2021 to join X fast, but Johnson said publicly the following month that he would not return to the franchise. It turned out to be a little lie to discourage fans, or he changed his mind.
Those of the duo Fast & Furious co-star John Cena He recently appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast and was asked by host Dax Shepard about the rumors surrounding Johnson and Diesel’s on-set feud. The host said “it was a tough match.”
Cena, who joined the Fast family in 2021 F9: The fast saga as Jakob Toretto, the estranged brother of Diesel’s Dom, said his days in the WWE world prepared him to keep his head down and be a team player, adding:
“There are certainly rumors about it. I can’t deny it. You have two very alpha, driven people. You take two, there can only be one. Dude, you gotta remember I was left in a locker room where [we have] generational vets. What did your father do?’ ‘Fighting.’ “What did your grandfather do?” ‘Fighting.’ I’ve been in that environment; get to know the room and adapt to what’s going on. I get invited to someone’s house, into someone’s family. And regardless of their physical appearance compared to another human being, this is an IP that has had nine installments and is an action film: it’s rarefied air. At the very least there must be respect for this.”
Cena concluded by saying he knows “I’m a guest” in the Fast family, saying, “I’m not trying to get the sandbox. It’s not my thing. I’m grateful for what you’ve given me, I just want to be the best fire truck I can be.
Luckily the two actors resolved their issues so Johnson could return as Hobbs X fastsetting the character up to be a full-fledged protagonist in the next 11 Fast & Furious movie.
“Last summer Vin and I put all of the past behind us,” Johnson tweeted the following summer X fast was released in theaters “We will lead with brotherhood and determination – and we will always take care of the franchise, characters and FANS we love.”
Cena is no stranger to feuding with Johnson, as the two had their own feud during their WWE days. Cena said last year that his feud with Johnson was fueled by his anger that Johnson had left WWE to become an A-list Hollywood actor, which is exactly the career move Cena would have then undertaken. Cena admitted he was “short-sighted and selfish” in his feud with Johnson.
The 11th Fast The film is currently scheduled for release on April 4, 2025 by Universal Pictures.
