A24 has released the final trailer from the writer and director Alex GarlandThe explosive new action thriller and war drama Civil war.
The story of this film is set in the near future and offers a disturbing vision of the United States at war with itself. In the story, the government is fighting brutally against its citizens.
The film has received many great reviews and this new trailer highlights what critics are saying about the film. It’s a pretty safe bet that Garland will make a great movie.
The film’s brief synopsis reads: “A race for the White House in a near-future America balanced on a razor’s edge.” Movie stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jesse Plemon, Sonoya Mizuno AND Nick Offerman like the President of the United States.
Dunst plays a journalist traveling across the United States during the Second American Civil War. The film is clearly influenced by the increasingly volatile political divisions in the United States.”
A24 describes Civil war as “an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride”, and Garland has previously described the film as “a sci-fi allegory for our currently polarized situation”.
Civil war will be released in theaters on April 26.
