There were rumors that Marvel Studios was trying to bring him back Avengers: Secret Warsbut those rumors have been denied by Kevin Feige saying they would “never magically undo” his death.
However, if Marvel Studios came knocking on Downy Jr.’s door asking him to reprise his role, he would be ready! During a recent interview with Esquire, the actor was asked if he would be willing to play Iron Man again, and the actor replied, “Happily.”
He added: “It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say: never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It’s a losing bet. He is the house. He will always win.”
There are ways to bring Tony Stark back thanks to the multiverse, alternate timelines, and variants. But this is a character that many fans would like to see Marvel leave alone. The impact of his death was too significant.
Speaking previously about Tony Stark’s sacrifice, Feige said: “We will hold that moment and never touch it again. We have all worked very hard for many years to get to this, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.
But if Marvel wanted to bring Stark back somehow, Downey Jr. is willing to do it! How would you like to see Marvel handle Tony Stark’s return if they moved forward?
