A24 has released the first trailer from the writer and director Ti Westis the new horror thriller MaXXXine. The film completes a trilogy that also includes films X AND Pearl, and the next chapter of the story is set in 1980s Hollywood.
Movie stars My Gothic, who plays adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx, who finally gets her big break. “But as a mysterious killer hunts Hollywood starlets, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.”
In the trailer it is revealed that the mysterious killer prowling the streets is the Night Stalker. Goth previously spoke about the film, saying: “It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has been through a lot at this point.”
He goes on to explain, “So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and has some pretty wild adventures.”
He continued, “I see MaXXXine as a superhero movie – that’s how I read the script. Maxine, as a character, has come a long way. She’s a survivor, she’s been through a lot. When will we meet her again, in this new world where he’s at, he’s really fought for everything he has and he’s not going to give up.
Goth continues: “He will fight for what he has. She’s tough. There is a strength in her. She and she is a truly proactive, determined and focused woman. She goes after what she wants and she really won’t take no for an answer.”
The film also features an impressive cast that includes Halsey, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Giancarlo EspositoAND Kevin Bacon.
