We really don’t know anything about what is planned Margaret Ridleythe next Rey Skywalker movie. It’s to the point where everything Star Wars Fans can only speculate about what might happen.
The film is said to have a couple of different titles, but the one that seems to be stuck for now is Star Wars: New Jedi Orderand with a Jedi Order comes a group of new Jedi who are learning the ways of the Force.
The big question is: who will these Jedi characters be? Many Star Wars fans thought so John Boyega’s the character Finn would end up being a Jedi in the sequel trilogy, but instead the character ended up being sidelined and his story arc fizzled out. This is something the actor was very disappointed about.
There have been rumors, however, that Boyega may return for this new film, and during an interview with Screenrant, Ridley was asked if Finn could finally become a Jedi in the film if he returns, to which she replied, “That’s above my pay.” degree.”
She laughed and continued, “I’d like to see it, but it’s not a decision for me.” While she doesn’t have the power to make these decisions at Lucasfilm, she hopes to see what many fans have wanted.
It would make perfect sense to bring Finn back for this Star Wars project, but we’ll just have to wait and see what Lucasfilm works with.
A few years ago a fan asked Boyega if he was interested in returning to the franchise and he replied, “Lol, no thanks. I’ve moved on.” In another response, Boyega said, “Don’t play one role for too long. I have more to offer than that.”
The Rey Skywalker film is directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy from a screenplay written by Steven Knight. The film will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. All we know about the story so far is that Rey will be a “powerful Jedi master” who runs her own training academy.
Ridley previously said that the new story is “not what I expected” and “something very special,” and recently said that the whole idea of the film is “dead gorgeous.”
