AMC has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol teasing the continuation of Daryl and Carol’s story. In that story, Daryl (Norman Reedus) is trying to get home from France while Carol (Melissa McBride) embarks on a journey to find her missing best friend in the town of Freeport, Maine.
McBride previously spoke about her return to the franchise, saying, “I knew there was so much more to tell about Carol’s story because I felt she was so upset the last time we saw her, watching her best friend , Daryl, walk away. . Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories are deep and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers has done an amazing job of bringing these two established characters into a whole new world for them, and I love the discoveries!”
McBride made her first appearance in the season 1 finale of Daryl Dixon. In the series, “Daryl lands in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series follows his journey through a destroyed but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he embarks on the journey, however, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”
Showrunner David Zabel said, “There was always the hope and the wish that we would bring Melissa on the show in the first season, whatever version she was ready to do. That was always what I wanted to do and what everyone wanted. Norman wanted it, Scott [Gimple] we wanted it, we all wanted it. So it was just a matter of figuring out what the show was going to be like and then seeing how we could include her. Because we love the character, we love Melissa, and we love the dynamic between Daryl and Carol together. So from the moment I started on the show, that was always the conversation.”
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol protagonists Reedus, McBride, Clemence Poesy in the role of Isabella, Luigi Puech Scigliuzzi in the role of Laurent, Laika Blanc Francard in the role of Sylvie, Anna Charrier in the role of Madame Genet, Romain Levi like Codron, and Eriq Ebouaney like Fallou.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will premiere this summer on AMC and AMC+.
