GAME OF THRONES creators talk about their scrapped plans for the STAR WARS trilogy

The showrunners behind HBO game of Thrones and Netflix was recently released 3 Body problem, David Benioff AND DB Weissthey recently talked about their demolition Star Wars plans of the trilogy. During the Happy Sad Confused podcast, they explained how close they were to getting theirs Star Wars trilogy before it was cancelled.

“I think we went relatively far, story-wise, with the first one. We had a basic roadmap for the other two and that was a shame. The truth is that our Hollywood ratio, or batting average, between things conceived and things actually finished, has never been terribly high, and there will always be some who leave for various reasons. The ones that should never have existed. And it was sad that it was one of them for us. But as time goes by, you just need to let go of this kind of thing because if you don’t, you will go completely crazy.

A few months ago Benioff and Weiss revealed that the story would revolve around the history of the first Jedi. Benioff said: “We wanted to make The First Jedi. Basically how the Jedi Order was born, why it was born, the first lightsaber…”

Weiss added: “And we were annoyed as hell when [Rian Johnson, the duo’s longtime friend and 3BP producer] he titled his film The Last Jedi. He completely destroyed the obvious title of what we were working on.”

When asked what went wrong and why the project fell apart, he added: “[Lucasfilm] he ended up not wanting to do a story about the First Jedi. We had a very specific story idea in mind and in the end they decided not to do it. And we understand it perfectly. It’s their company and their intellectual property, but we weren’t the droids they were looking for.”

The history of the early Jedi is interesting. The first Jedi was the First Jedi, who became the first Jedi to use the Force. The First Jedi was also the founder of the Jedi Order. The First Jedi founded the Order on the planet Ahch-To, around 25,025 BBY. The first Jedi Temple, located on Ahch-To, contained a mosaic of the First Jedi in a state of meditation and balance.

This story will likely be explored in the directorial By James Mangold movie, Dawn of the Jedi. That story is said to take place 25,000 years before the events of the original trilogy and will focus on the birth of the Force.

Speaking previously about his project, Mangold described it as a Ben Hur OR The 10 commandments Force movies:

“It’s an opportunity to tell the whole story, the birth of strength. When I first talked about this with Kathy Kennedy, I simply said, “I really see this opening to create a kind of Ben-Hur or The 10 Commandments about the birth of the Strength.” The Force has become a sort of religious legend that runs through all of these films. But where did it come from? How do you find? Who found it? Who was the first Jedi? And that’s what I’m writing right now.”

In another interview, talking about how the film would focus on the discovery of the Force, the director said:

“It just came from the fact that I thought if I did one, it seemed to me that most of what they were thinking about doing with the films was about the present of Star Wars or the future, and what attracted me most was the distant past and how this galaxy was formed and how, more specifically, the Force was discovered.”

What we know about the ancient history of the Force is that in “36,453 BBY, philosophers and scientists from different star systems gathered on Tython to share mystical knowledge. The Force has been “discovered”. Unfortunately, in 25,793 BBY, several Tythan scholars began using their knowledge of the Force to pursue power, leading to the start of the Force Wars. The peaceful-minded monks who survived the destruction of Tython founded the Jedi Order in 25,783 BBY.
