JK Simmons and others join Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night Live SNL 1975 film

JK Simmons (Flick) joined the director’s cast Jason Reitmannthe Sony Pictures film SNL 1975which is based on real-life behind-the-scenes accounts of the opening night of Saturday night live. Other new cast members include Billy Bryk (Friendship), Joe Chrest (Stranger things), Taylor Gray (Star Wars: Rebels) AND Mcabe Gregg (Tough teenager).

Simmons will take on the role of comedian Milton Berléwith Chrest as co-creator of Weekend Update Herb Sargent. Gray and Gregg will play Al Franken AND Tom Davis, the SNL writer-performers duo Franken & Davis. There are no details on who Bryk will play.

They join the previous cast Gabriel LaBelle (The Fabelmans ) AS Lorne Michaelswith Cooper Hoffmann, Rachel Sennot, Ella Hunt, Lamorne Morris, Dylan O’Brien, Nicola Braun, Finn Wolfhard AND Kaia Gerber.

SNL premiered on October 11, 1975, and this film “is the true story of what happened behind the scenes that night, in the moments before the first broadcast of SNL. The chaos and magic of a revolution that almost didn’t happen, as we count the minutes in real time until the infamous words, Live From New York, is Saturday night.

Reitmann e Gil Kenan he wrote the script after interviewing all the living cast, writers and crew SNL.
