NATIONAL TREASURE 3 is still in development and Nicholas Cage is waiting for the script

Almost two decades have passed since then National Treasure: Book of Secrets was released in theaters and there were multiple attempts to make a third film during that time. There was also a TV series that was developed and then canceled after one season.

I wondered if there would be another attempt to get a new movie off the ground, and it turns out there is! Franchise manufacturer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that they have been working on a new sequel for a while and the script is currently being written. Nicola Gabbia he’s waiting for the script to arrive before deciding whether he wants to make the film or not.

Bruckheimer told MovieWeb, “Well, hopefully there’s a National Treasury 3. We’ve been working on this for a while. We have a brilliant writer working on it right now, so we’re hoping that if we get a script in time, we’ll send it to Nic, and if he likes it, we’ll do another one. We certainly would.”

As for what Cage thinks about the possibility of National Treasury 3during an interview with Screen Rant a few weeks ago, the actor said: “See, you’re the one who brings these things out and they go out and eclipse everything else. No, there’s no National Treasure 3. If you want to find the treasure , don’t watch Disney, okay? It’s not there.”

So, Cage has a completely different take on what’s going on in the project! Bruckheimer obviously has a deeper understanding of the project. Cage had also previously said he didn’t understand why a new film hadn’t been made.

Cage said, “Well, they’re a lot of fun. I mean, I like them too, and I think Jon Turteltaub made a couple of classic family movies. I’m still a little amazed that Disney didn’t “I wanted make a third of it. I think the films have brought a lot of joy to audiences, and they’re certainly interesting from a historical perspective, and I think it’s worth making a film for all of that. You can dig deep and get into the more abstract stuff, like Bringing Out The Dead, or Pig, or even Dream Scenario, or you can open it up and make a movie that appeals to a lot of people and hopefully gives families a chance to escape a little bit. ‘ from anything that may happen at home or in the family. office. I think they’re all valid.”

I liked the National treasure movie, and if they end up making a third one, I’ll come watch it!
