HBO has released a great new trailer for its upcoming limited series The sympathizerwhich comes from the co-showrunners Park Chan-wook AND Don McKellar. Park is the director behind films like Old boy, Lady Vengeance, Thirst, and more, and it looks like his next project will keep him entertained! I like the footage I saw and can’t wait to watch it!
The series is the protagonist Robert Downey Junior.who plays four characters on the show and executive produces, as well as Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan, Toan Le, Ky DuyenAND Sandra Oh.
Based on Viet Thanh Nguyenof the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, The sympathizer “is a spy thriller and cross-cultural satire about the struggles of a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his subsequent exile in the United States.”
HBO will premiere The sympathizer on Max on April 14, 2024.
