THE FALL GUY Director Wants to Make More Movies – ‘I Want the LETHAL WEAPON Issues’

The boy of autumn director David Leitch he hopes this first film will launch a franchise and is ready to start making numerous films that celebrate the work of stuntmen. During an interview with GamseRadar, the director shared:

“I know I want to go on a journey with these characters for more movies. I want Lethal Weapon numbers. I love these people so much, and I love these characters too… If I could work with this crew and these actors in this world that Kelly [McCormick – wife and producing partner] and I know it so well – yes, that would be great. I hope people want more.”

There are four films in Lethal Weapon franchising with Mel Gibson trying to lift a fifth of it off the ground. So if Leitch could pull it off, we could see at least four of them Autumn boy movie. The first is the protagonist Ryan Gosling AND Emily Bluntand it seems that the actors would not agree with the sequels.

Blunt admitted that she hopes the film has “many” sequels on the horizon. But she’s keen to say that, ultimately, it all comes down to whether audiences want more: “We’ll have to see if people love it, you know? I’d make a lot of Fall Guys if I did.” she could. It was just too funny.”

The film’s story focuses on a battered, retired stuntman (Gosling), who is pulled back into the stunt world to work on a film directed by his ex-girlfriend (Blunt). Aaron Taylor-Johnson he’s also in the movie as the protagonist of that movie, and he’s missing. So, Blunt needs Gosling’s help to save the production.

The synopsis reads: “He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot at, crashed, thrown through windows, and dropped from the highest heights, all for our fun. And now, fresh from an accident that nearly ended his career, this working-class hero must track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his job daily. What could be good?”

The film is described as a “hilarious, gripping new pinnacle action thriller and a love letter to action movies and the hard-working, underrated crew of people who make them: The Fall Guy.”

Gosling plays Colt Seavers, “a battle-scarred stuntman who, after leaving the business a year earlier to focus on his physical and mental health, is called back into service when he stars in a big-budget studio film, directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Blunt, disappears.

While the ruthless producer of the film Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), “maneuvers to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Taylor-Johnson) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt pulls off the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to get back into Jody’s good graces. But as the mystery surrounding the missing star deepens, Colt will find himself trapped in a sinister criminal plot that will push him to the brink of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.

Speaking about the film, Leitch said he was excited to make a film that represented the lives of professional stuntmen, who risk their lives for very little credit and for our entertainment. “I was a former stuntman, so it’s very, very dear to me.”

The film is also the protagonist Stephanie Hsu, Teresa Palmer AND Winston Duke. The boy of autumn will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
