The rebel Wilson (Pitch perfect, Bridesmaids) Has screamed Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, The trial of the Chicago 7) by name as a colleague in his memoirs, Rebel insurrection, who allegedly threatened her with legal action to try to block her memoir. In a social media post, Wilson called him the “asshole” she wrote about in her book.
“I will not be bullied or silenced by expensive lawyers or PR crisis managers,” read the statement on Wilson’s Instagram Stories. He continued: “The asshole I talk about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.”
A representative for Cohen said in a statement to Deadline: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these patently false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, video footage and eyewitness accounts from those who were present before, during and after production The Brothers Grimsby.”
In an Instagram post last week, Wilson talked about a “huge asshole” he encountered in the industry. She the actress declared that she wanted to dedicate an entire chapter to this person, but she did not reveal the name of her person.
“You want to know why I now have a ‘no assholes’ policy with the people I work with? …Well, it’s all in the book,” Wilson teased Rebel insurrection memory.

%20“>video post, she says: “When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, yeah, ‘I have an anti-asshole policy, that means, yeah, I don’t work with assholes. ‘ I thought “oh yeah. I mean, that seems sensible or logical.”
“But then you really understood what they meant by that, the older people in the industry. Because I worked with a huge asshole and, yes, I definitely have a policy for assholes now. The chapter about said asshole is chapter 23, that guy was a huge asshole.
Although Wilson calls Cohen an asshole multiple times, she can’t figure out what exactly he did that was so horrible. I imagine she wants us to read the book to find out the details. Wilson and Cohen starred together in the 2016 spy action comedy Grimsbydirected by Louis Leterrier. The actors shared credits with Mark Strong, Isla Fisher, Gabourey Sidibe and Penélope Cruz.
Rebel insurrection will be released on April 2nd.
