Black Jack is currently making the press rounds for Kung Fu Panda 4and while speaking with News Joe, Black talks about wanting to make a sequel to his 2003 comedy School of rock by the director Richard Linklater and writer Mike White. Black said:
“I wish there was a ‘School of Rock 2: Electric Boogaloo,’ I’m ready. You know, Mike White wrote the first one and he’s a genius, and we should get Mike White back in the saddle, but right now he’s very busy with ‘White Lotus,’ the best show on television.
School of rock it’s a great movie and I wouldn’t mind seeing what that character does after all these years. It would be fun to see the character explored further, but if that doesn’t happen, that’s fine too. The film is a great standalone film.
Black played Dewey Finn in the film, a down-on-his-luck guitarist who puts together an improvised band of child musicians while substitute teaching at an elementary school. The film also starred Mike White, Sarah Silvermann AND Joan Cusack.
A couple of years ago Black spoke to Entertainment Tonight, saying this School of rock it was the high point of his career. “My best memories are just that group of guys, and how fun and awesome they were. It’s definitely the most important moment of my career, I can say that. Honestly.”
You would like to see School of rock will the sequel happen?
