Netflix has released a full trailer for its crazy-looking Korean horror series Parasite: the greywhere it comes from Yeon Sang-hothe director behind Train to Busan AND Pact with hell. The series is based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s original 1989 manga Parasite: the maximum.
Parasite: the grey is a new version of the manga series and the story is set in Korea and will feature many new characters within a completely new story. In the story, “When unidentified parasites violently take control of human hosts and gain power, humanity must rise up to fight the growing threat.”
The film is set in a world where unsuspecting individuals have been infested with parasites. “These parasites, intent on multiplying, control humans and imitate their behavior, posing a sinister threat. In this looming situation, Kang-woo (Koo Kyo-hwan) is shown in the midst of searching for his missing brother while hiding from a parasite hunting him. Led by Jun-kyung (Lee Jung-hyun), Team Gray engages in a dangerous battle with the parasites, showing what both sides are capable of in this war with no clear end in sight.
The series was written by Ryu Yong-jae and the film will be released on Netflix on April 5, 2024.
