Icon Film Distribution has released the first trailer for a heartwarming family drama titled bleeding Lovewhat stars Ewan McGregor and his daughter Clara McGregor.
In the film, “Hoping to reconnect with his ex-daughter, a father (Ewan McGregor) takes an impromptu road trip with his now-adult daughter (Ewan McGregor) after she suffers a near-fatal drug overdose. He plans to take her to rehab, even if she doesn’t know it. Traveling to their destination in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and meeting an eccentric array of characters along the way, the two are forced to confront issues from their past, the journey proving less about the road they’re on, and more Still. regarding the problematic one in their past.
The film was directed by Emma Westenberg who said: “It was incredible to work with real-life father-daughter duo Clara and Ewan McGregor, on a story so personal to everyone involved. Their acting talent and real-life bonds combined to bring them out from the screen. I am grateful for the support of all the producers and crew of the project.”
She added: “I felt a deep emotional connection to this story because substance abuse touches so many families, including mine, so when Vera Bulder and Clara McGregor approached me to direct I immediately connected to the story.”
Clara co-wrote the screenplay with Vera Bulder AND Ruby Caster. Clara shared that although the story is fiction, “some aspects draw on her sometimes complicated relationship with her father in the past.”
bleeding Love will be released in UK cinemas on 12 April.
