Jessica Biel to Star in Peacock Limited Series THE GOOD DAUGHTER, Based on Karin Slaughter’s Novel

Emmy nominated actress Jessica Biel (The illusionist, The sinner, Candy) has signed on to star in Peacock’s upcoming limited series The good daughterbased on the novel by Karin Slaughter. Biel will also executive produce the series under her Iron Ocean banner, with Slaughter set to adapt her book for the screen in his television debut. Bruna Papandrea will also serve as executive producer via Made Up Stories.

The official series description states: “Sisters Charlotte (Biel) and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together lives that were shattered by a single night of violence. When another attack destroys the town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now that she’s a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to face her own demons as the case winds through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if being a good daughter was worth it after all.”

Slaughter will also executive produce the series in addition to writing all episodes. Iron Ocean’s Michelle Purple will also executive produce alongside Biel. Made Up Stories’ Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver serve as executive producers alongside Papandrea. The fifth season will serve as a study.

This will be the second of Slaughter’s novels to be adapted for television by Made Up Stories. The company had already produced a serial version of his book Pieces of herwho acted Tonini Collette and air on Netflix in March 2022. The Will Trent Slaughter novel series also serves as the basis for the hit ABC series It will be Trentowhich is currently airing its second season.
