Vinci Airports chief executive Rémi Maumon de Longevialle led a senior delegation visiting executive aviation terminals operated by Universal Aviation in the Dominican Republic.
The executive visit formed part of a familiarization tour across private flight facilities concessioned by Aerodom, a subsidiary of Vinci Airports, to inspect infrastructure and service standards in the Caribbean nation.
Universal Aviation general director in the Dominican Republic Danilo Rosario Jiménez received the delegation and presented the evolution of local operations. Rosario detailed the service model implemented across fixed-base operator terminals, designed to offer a world-class experience to private and corporate flight passengers and crews.
A fixed-base operator, commonly referred to as an FBO, is a commercial entity granted the right by an airport authority to provide aeronautical services such as fueling, hangarage, aircraft handling, and passenger amenities. Unlike public passenger terminals that serve scheduled commercial airlines, FBO terminals specialize in general aviation and corporate jet traffic, offering private lounges, expedited customs clearance, and dedicated ground support.
Executive review of private aviation operations
During the tour, the executive team inspected terminal facilities, operational workflows, and customer service processes across airports in the country. Universal Aviation currently manages FBO facilities at Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport at El Catey in Samaná, and Joaquín Balaguer International Airport at La Isabela in Santo Domingo.
Following the inspection of the facilities in Puerto Plata and Samaná, Vinci Airports executives praised the management performance of Universal Aviation in operating the terminals. The leadership team highlighted the service quality, operational standards, and customer care provided by Universal Aviation in its role as a strategic partner to Aerodom.
Vinci Airports executives noted that the collaborative agreement between the companies strengthens executive aviation across the region. They emphasized that high-quality FBO services support the positioning of the Dominican Republic as an international benchmark destination for premium tourism and corporate mobility.
Vinci Airports, a major global airport operator based in France and part of the Vinci Group, operates dozens of airports across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Its Dominican subsidiary Aerodom, officially known as Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI, holds long-term concession agreements to manage key public airport infrastructure throughout the Dominican Republic.
Government meeting and regional quality award
The terminal visits formed part of a broader institutional agenda designed to give Vinci Airports executives direct insight into active infrastructure projects in the Dominican Republic. The itinerary enabled corporate leaders to meet with local operational teams and exchange technical expertise to drive continuous innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable airport development.
During their stay, the delegation held an official meeting with Dominican Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza. At the gathering, executives formally presented the Airport Service Quality award granted to Gregorio Luperón International Airport by Airports Council International.
The Airport Service Quality award recognized Gregorio Luperón International Airport as one of the top airport facilities in Latin America and the Caribbean for passenger experience. The annual distinction evaluates customer satisfaction based on global benchmark surveys conducted directly with passengers at participating airports.
Airports Council International is the global trade organization representing airport authorities worldwide, establishing industry standards for safety, security, and operational quality. The recognition highlights the growing standing of the northern Dominican airport gateway, located in Puerto Plata, which serves as a major hub for tourism along the Atlantic coast of the country.
Strategic partnership for executive mobility
Reflecting on the executive visit, Danilo Rosario Jiménez stated that receiving the chief executive officer of Vinci Airports and members of its executive board was an honor for Universal Aviation. He noted that the visit served as significant recognition of the work completed by the local team over recent years and confirmed the trust placed in their operation to manage FBO terminals across three major airports concessioned by Aerodom.

Universal Aviation operates as the ground support and private terminal division of Universal Weather and Aviation, providing ground handling, passenger services, and flight logistics for corporate and private aircraft across global destinations.

The delegation from Vinci Airports included chief executive officer Rémi Maumon de Longevialle, Vinci Highways Latin America executive director Laurent Cavrois, and Vinci Airports managing director for the Dominican Republic, Chile, and France Valérie Vesque-Jeancard. The visiting executive team also included chief commercial officer Álvaro Leite, director of operations and data Benoit Forest, and chief financial officer Jerome Havard.
Aerodom was represented during the meetings by general director Cyril Girot, North Cluster director Carlos Rodolí, business development director Carlos Núñez, and corporate communication director Luis José López, alongside additional operational executives.
