Last week the first trailer of The Raven reboot was released and didn’t receive the most positive reactions from fans. In fact, the film’s trailer currently has over 88,000 dislikes on YouTube. But the trailer also has 62,000 likes, so there’s still a good number of people who liked what they saw in the trailer.
A remake of The Raven It’s been in and out of development for years, and over that time it’s been scrutinized by the fan base of the original film directed by Alex Proyas. Now that the film is actually out, the trailer has received a lot of backlash.
The production and creative team must have known this backlash was coming and I have a feeling the movie won’t do very well at the box office when it comes out. But we’ll just have to wait and see. Reboot The Raven it might not have been the best idea.
In the film: “Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when demons from her dark past reach them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric decides to seek ruthless revenge on their killers, crossing the worlds of the living and the dead to make right the wrongs.
This version of the film comes from the director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the shell) and get started Bill Skarsgard (It), singer/actor FKA Twigs, Danny Houston (30 days of night), Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A son), AND Giordano Bolger (The Woman King).
The Raven reboot will be released in theaters on June 7, 2024.
