Update on the sequels to Bob Odenkirk’s NOBODY and David Harbour’s VIOLENT NIGHT

In case you were wondering what’s going on with the sequels Bob Odenkirk’S Nobody AND Davide Porto’S Violent nightproducer Kelly McCormick offers a positive update on both projects. Both actors have expressed interest in returning to make sequels, and it looks like those films will get made.

While speaking with Collider during this year’s SXSW, McCormick and producer David Leitch revealed that plans for the films’ sequel are currently underway. McCormick said the entire process is going well right now and shared when he hopes to begin production:

“We are planning to return to those universes. Hopefully, honestly, even potentially late this year for Nobody 2 and early next year for Violent Night 2, if we can find time in everyone’s busy schedules. But development is going really well and everyone is really, really excited to advance these worlds,” McCormick said.

McCormick went on to say that the scripts are already being written: “We’re in a couple of drafts and things are going really well, but there’s still some work to do.” This had already been confirmed Tommy Wirkola will direct Violent night 2.

Leitch also added that Universal Pictures is fully “invested” in turning these films into franchises and said that Odenkirk and Harbor are “excited” to return for a sequel.

Nobody it was a lot of fun and there’s a lot more story that could be told in a sequel. In the first film, Odenkirk played Hutch Mansell, a docile family man who slowly reveals his true character after his house is burglarized by two petty thieves, which coincidentally lands him in a bloody war with a Russian crime boss .
