CRUEL SUMMER Actress Sadie Stanley to Play Romantic Lead in New KARATE KID Franchise Film

Sadie Stanleystar of the Freeform teen drama Cruel summer is the latest to be added to the cast of the next film Karate Kid franchising. The actress will play the romantic lead opposite Ben WangTHE Chinese born in America leading actor of the film. It’s also in the cast Jackie Chan AND Ralph Macchio, who are reprising their iconic characters to continue the cinematic mythology of the previous films. A novelty for the cast is Joshua Jackson.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is known that the new installment will take the story to the East Coast and focus on a Chinese teenager (Wang) who, according to Karate Kid tradition, finds strength and direction through martial arts and a tough but wise mentor (or two).

Character details have not been revealed, but Stanley will play Jackson’s character’s daughter.

This has yet to have a title Karate Kid the film will be released in theaters during the holiday season, December 13, 2024.
