While Marvel’s Ms. Marvel series e The wonders The films were not well received by critics and some fans, I want to say Iman Vellani she’s amazing as Ms. Marvel! She is absolutely delightful and if she actually had a strong story and script to work with, she would shine even more.
The ending of The Marvels strongly hinted that Vellani would return while she was in the MCU recruiting members for the Young Avengers. But after The Marvels was a disappointing success at the box office, Marvel and Disney may want to change their plans.
Regardless, during an interview with Polygon, the actress said that Marvel Studios has assured her that she’ll stick around. She said:
“I was assured. So it makes me feel good, but there was no more guarantee than this. They give me some breadcrumbs and I try to make a meal out of it.”
She doesn’t know exactly what awaits her, but she knows that she will pull herself together and take action. Vellani expressed his excitement for a Young Avengers movie, though, and recently talked in-depth about the possibilities and how he believes the Young Avengers will distinguish themselves from the originals:
“They have perspectives that the older Avengers don’t have, especially because they’ve had to deal with the repercussions, but they’re also fans of the older Avengers. So I think they can really make this team something new. I think it’s going to be a lot more functional than the Avengers were. I think Kamala being in charge could also set the tone in a really wonderful way. I think she is a born leader.
She’s not only the glue of Marvel, but she could be the glue of the younger group of Avengers because she’s mature and intelligent, and she also has all this knowledge about being superheroes and teamwork and how to do it in a way that’s ideal. and it works for everyone. And she probably learned so much from working on the Marvels, so she can bring that to the Young Avengers. But yeah, I think they’re definitely going to be a group that younger audiences can connect with and relate to a lot more. I think their views on social justice issues, I think their views just on the world in general and what’s needed is much more important.
They feel like the group that’s going to understand humanity and the value of human life much more than I think the older group does because they’re part of it, right? They have relationships there. They go to school, they have their friends, they have their idols and their mentors. And I think all of these relationships will anchor this group much more than we have mentors who are billionaires, and you have a guy frozen from the 1940s. So they are definitely much more aware of reality.
She also said, “I just want to see them interact. I think they’ve left so many younger character stories open-ended, and to see the fans start to bring people together, it would be something like, I want to see Kamala.” interact with America. I want to see Kamala interact with Patriot, I don’t know. Just all these random people. And so yeah, I think there’s so many different paths you could take with this. “
Marvel Studios has many projects in the works, and at this time we know that previously announced movie plans will be changed. I’m really curious to see how Marvel will try to change things to tell better and stronger stories. Ms. Marvel fits in somewhere, we’ll just have to wait to see what project she’ll be slotted into.
