THE Baywatch the Fremantle-developed reboot series is officially moving forward, and Fox has struck a deal to make it happen.
Fox and Fremantle have hired Lara Olsen (Spinning Out) to serve as showrunner for the new series, originally created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz AND Gregory J. Bonann. The creators will serve as executive producers of the new series.
The description reads: “Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches and iconic red swimsuits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated and messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that proves that there is the family you have” you are born and the family you find.
The original Baywatch the series starred David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Alexandra Paul, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Eggertand more. It aired from 1989 to 1999, and of course I watched that stupid show!
Baywatch it was one of the most watched television programs of the time. The series is set against the backdrop of the beaches of Los Angeles County, California, and later Hawaii. It follows the professional and personal lives of a group of lifeguards who patrol the beaches, led by the dedicated and charismatic Mitch Buchannon, played by Hasselhoff.
The show is known for its intense, action-packed lifeguard rescues and slow-motion racing scenes. It also depicted the challenges and dangers associated with lifeguarding at the beach and played with environmental, social issues and romantic entanglements in the style of a soap opera-style drama.
I probably won’t waste time watching the reboot. Baywatch he had his moment, and that moment had passed.
