Oscar nominated actor Josh Brolin he is known for his nostalgic films such as The Gooniesas well as his dramas nominated as Workers Day AND It is no country for old men. She has also starred in some well-received superhero films such as Dead Pool and the Avengers Infinity Saga. But, like most actors, he’s also starred in some films that didn’t turn out so well, and he doesn’t hesitate to talk about them frankly, especially his 2010 DC superhero film, Jonah Hexin which he played the title role.
Despite a stellar cast that included John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender, Michael Shannon, Megan Fox AND Will Arnettthe film simply didn’t do well, either with fans or at the box office.
In a recent interview with GQ, Brolin candidly said of the film:
“I will never stop criticizing Jonah Hex, because it was a shitty movie!”
You can’t be more blunt than that! But she takes a breath and starts again to make an important change regarding a part of that experience: the relationship she had had with Jimmy Hayward, Jonah Hexwho according to Brolin was overwhelmed and too inexperienced at the time to give the film the jolt it desperately needed.
They recently reconnected; Hayward apologized for his role in the mix-up, then revealed he had been in and out of hospital with a painful form of bone cancer, which required numerous facial reconstructive surgeries.
Brolin said:
“It reminded me [that] You can’t keep picking on someone. I don’t know what the fuck is going on in her life. I mean, total facial reconstruction, everything.”
It’s nice to know that they were able to reconnect and move forward, and while Brolin is outspoken about his opinion of the film, he’s able to have a relationship with the guy who made it.
