A teaser trailer has been released for the film Dad, a drama that seems to take place mostly in a taxi. The film is the protagonist Dakota Johnson (The peanut butter hawk, Mrs. Web) and Oscar winner Sean Penn (Milk, mystical river). The film is written and directed by Christy Hall making his directorial debut after developing and producing the series I’m not okay with this.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“Dakota Johnson plays a woman who gets into a New York cab at the airport, driven by a man played by Sean Penn. She’s clearly worried and just wants to get home. He’s a sidewalk philosopher. Immediately, he draws her into a conversation that starts small talk then gets bigger, deeper and riskier as he guides her to her destination.”
This sounds like it could be a really sweet and interesting movie. Sean Penn is one of my favorite actors and Dakota Johnson has had some really great performances in her career as well. Dad it premiered at the Telluride and Toronto film festivals last fall and will hit theaters this summer. Watch the trailer below:
