The animation department at Sony Pictures has been working hard to bring us the third and final film in the Miles Morales Spider-Man saga, featuring Spider-Man: Beyond Spider-Verse, which is expected to hit screens later this year. The first two films were critical, box office and fan successes, with incredible animation and great storytelling. But they may just be the beginning of Spider-Man’s animated era.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via Toonado.com), Sony Animation is developing at least two more Spiderman animation film. Unfortunately no further information about these projects has been shared, however we expect Miles Morales’ story to end with this Beyond the Spider-Verseespecially with rumors that there are live-action plans for the young web-slinger.
Producer and writer Phil Lord previously said about the next threequel:
“It will be a very satisfying conclusion. It will deepen even more emotionally the relationships between Miles, Gwen, Peter B., [and Miles’] parents. The most interesting thing for Miles [in Beyond the Spider-Verse] is it like facing a sense of betrayal and turning it into something affirming? And I think what we try to do with these films is portray goodness and show how the love that the characters in the film have for Miles translates into his growth and his success.”
