Pedro Pascal talks about the scale of GLADIATOR 2 and what it’s like working with Ridley Scott

Actor Pedro Pasquale he is best known for his starring roles in the series The Mandalorian AND The last of usand, subsequently, will tackle another major franchise with the sequel to the 2000 film, Gladiator. In Gladiator 2, the story focuses on Lucius, son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, son of the Roman leader Marcus Aurelius who killed his father and took over the throne. Commodus met his downfall in the gladiatorial arena against Maximus, who despite being mortally wounded, defeated the emperor before dying to reunite with his family. Maximus had saved Lucius and his mother, leaving a lasting impact on the boy.

Pascal is joined in the film by Paolo Mescal like Lucio, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen back in the role of Lucilla, Fred Hechinger will play Emperor Geta, and Joseph Quinn will play Emperor Caracalla. They are united by May Calamawy, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Peter Mensah AND Matt Lucas.

Pascal’s other projects have also been large productions in terms of size and scale, but according to him he is the director Ridley ScottThe sequel is unique, telling Vanity Fair:

“I’ve been on big sets where the identity of the project, in a way, is its scale, and yet I haven’t been on a set as impressive as Gladiator. [Director] Ridley [Scott] it leaves little to the imagination in the most old-fashioned sense. All the players and pieces are there that day, and suddenly the expected challenge of believing in yourself as a powerful person in the era of the Roman Empire vanishes.”

It looks like Pascal is having a great new experience as an actor, which is no surprise on the set of a Ridley Scott film. Gladiator 2 will be released on November 22, 2024.
