Roku has released the trailer for the series adaptation of the Spiderwick Chronicles, which they picked up after Disney+ canceled the series after the first season was fully completed. The fantasy series definitely doesn’t have the high production value of the Disney one Percy Jackson series, but it seems like a show that younger audiences will enjoy.
Here’s the official description of the series: “Helen and her children, 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon, and their sister Mallory move into their ancestral home, Spiderwick. Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures are real The only one who believes him is his great-aunt Lucinda who begs Jared to find the pages of his father’s field guide on magical creatures and protect them from the bloodthirsty Ogre, Mulgarath.
The series is based on the book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, and the series’ protagonists Parenting AND The revolt of the good girls actor Joy Bryant will star in the series as Helen alongside previously announced cast members Lyon Daniels, Noah CottrellAND Cristiano Slate.
The series was executive produced by Aron Eli Coleitewho also served as showrunner together She-Hulk director Kat Coiro.
The series will consist of eight episodes and will debut on April 19.
