The trailer of X-Men ’97, previews a series full of nostalgia but will also offer some fresh new stories. DeMayo’s conversation with Entertainment Weekly revealed that each design choice in the series serves as a breadcrumb, leading fans to the plots that will develop.

Nothing is arbitrary.” The writer would also recognize some of the individual references. “It’s a nice nod to Pryde from the X-Men,” he added, referring to the 1989 pilot for a different X-Men series. “But it serves to take the X-Men back to a time where they’re asking: What part of this do I want to keep? Was it really simpler back then, or were we just more naive?”
